In August of 1973 Scott Emory Pickett was born in Greensboro, NC to two loving parents, Jim
and Janice Pickett.  Scott moved with his parents and his new brother, Stewart, to Macon, GA
three years later.  In the hot, humid, heat of Middle Georgia, Scott spent his awkward
adolescent years, grew to young adulthood, spent many years swimming competitively, and
attended the local catholic high school,
Mount de Sales Academy, from which he graduated in
1991.  Scott subsequently journeyed to Gambier, Ohio and
Kenyon College where he happily
lived and studied for the next four years.  In May of 1995 he graduated from Kenyon with a
bachelor of Arts in Biology.  The bayous of Louisiana were Scott's next stop where he began
attending
Louisiana State University: School of Veterinary Medicine in Baton Rouge during the
fall of 1995.  During his stay he gained a life long friend in the form of Sage, a Golden Retriever,
explored New Orleans, and decided that Blues and Jazz weren't half bad.  Four grueling years
later and a newly acquired taste for all things spicy Scott graduated with a Doctorate in
Veterinary Medicine.  After practicing for a year in Macon, Dr. Pickett in the never-ending
search for a better bike trail developed a desire for the mountains and thus moved to Western
North Carolina in the summer of 2000.  In between mountain biking, snow skiing, and fly fishing
he practiced small animal medicine and surgery at Jackson County Veterinary Associates and
Cope Creek Animal Hospital in Sylva.  Dr. Pickett also provided relief veterinary services to the
veterinary community in the surrounding counties.  In the summer of 2004, Dr. Pickett and his
brother, Stewart, realized the need for a small animal mobile veterinary practice in the
Asheville and Hendersonville area and began taking the necessary steps to make their dream
a reality.  During the summer of 2005 Dr. Pickett and Stewart were happy to announce the
opening of Best Friends Mobile Veterinary Clinic

Stewart Pickett
In 1997 Stewart first began as a Veterinary Technician in his home town of Macon, Ga
and acquired his Choc. Lab, Hunter.  A few years later in 1999 Stewart felt the need to
move to the mountains of Western North Carolina.  He fell in love with the city of
Asheville and the plethora of outdoor activities close by.  Before beginning with Best
Friends Mobile Veterinary Clinic Stewart enjoyed the excitement of working in the local
emergency animal hospital.  When he can find the free time Stewart enjoys mountain
biking,
hiking, skiing, and computer games.  But most importantly spending time with his
wife Alicia along with Hunter, and the 2 cats Mable and Yoshi.
